Last week, a friend of mine hooked me up with a beer brewed by Hopcat, called Golden Devil. In doing so, he highly recommended I save it for at least a year. As I’ve mentioned before, aging beer is a GREAT thing…but not an easy thing.

There are hundreds of beers that can age without perishing, and more significant still is  they improve with age. When it comes to aging beer, I have no problem doing so. The part that is hard is when I have only one bottle and have not yet tasted the beer. In the case of the Golden Devil, Hopcat still happens to have it on tap, and last night I was able to taste the beer I was told to age. It was fantastic and now I know that, I can’t wait to taste it again after it has some dust on it.

If you happen upon a beer worth aging, either try it on draft (if available) or buy two bottles so you can drink one now and drink the other in six months, a year, three years, etc…

Cheers!
